Xiamen International Aviation Hub to activate "two networks"

 Recently, "Xiamen International Aviation Hub Strategic Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") passed the expert review. According to the Plan, by 2035, Xiamen International Aviation Hub will activate "two networks", that is, "135" passenger service network (1-hour traffic circle connecting across the Strait, 3-hour business circle covering domestic areas, and 5-hour aviation circle radiating Asia-Pacific region) and "412" logistics service network (4-hour regional intra-city delivery, 1-day delivery for domestic and surrounding countries and regions). From now to 2025, Xiamen International Aviation Hub will experience its "foundation-laying and growth period". After the Xiang'an Airport opens, the business scale of the hub will increase significantly, and the "two networks" will be constructed initially; from 2025 to 2035, the hub will enter "a period of comprehensive improvement", the "two networks" will be fully completed, and the business scale will witness a considerable rise. An international aviation hub with first-class guarantee capability, operational efficiency, service quality and competitiveness will be established in an all-round way.

Xiamen gives full support to build a highland of talents

 Adhering to the strategy of “strengthening city's competitiveness through attracting talents”, Xiamen, in 2019, was the first in Fujian to release and implement special incentive policies for flexible talent introduction. In addition, in order to better attract and gather high-end talents, Xiamen has optimized and upgraded the "Double Hundred Plan", focusing on supporting key investment attraction projects recommended by various districts and investment attraction departments. It has continually built "fast channels" for talents introduction, paving the way for the fast landing of key projects and investment attraction projects. Since 2017, Xiamen has taken the lead in Fujian in launching reform of professional title review. So far, it has authorized the review carried out by industry associations, leading enterprises and scientific research institutions in six industry fields, such as biomedicine, aviation maintenance, Internet of Things, smart power transmission and distribution and big data, which has promoted the independent review to over 2000 talents by the industry entities. Xiamen also launched "Six Measures for Staying in Xiamen" in July this year, paying attention to solving the problems of talent housing, children's education, and spouse placement.

Xiamen Port once again praised for its business environment

 On December 9, the "China Conference on Customs Clearance and Compliance Management" was successfully held in Wuxi, Jiangsu. At the conference, the result of the "Evaluation on Business Environment of Top Ten Shipping Container Ports in 2021" was released. This year, Xiamen won the highest star rating in the annual evaluation again after being ranked first in the evaluation for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020. Firmly grasping the opportunities of the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center and the "Silk Road Maritime", and benchmarking and learning from the advanced experience of sister cities, Xiamen Port strives to promote the facilitation of cross-border trade in Xiamen to a new level.

Xiamen wins the title of "Best Talent Attraction City in China 2021"

 According to the list of "Best Employers in China 2021" released by Zhaopin recently, Xiamen wins the title of "Best Talent Attraction City in China 2021". Moreover, Xiamen C&D Group, Xiamen ITG Holding Group and ANTA Group, three Xiamen's local enterprises, win the title of "Annual Top 100 Employers in China". The designation of the title shows that talent attraction actions of the Xiamen government are highly recognized by the domestic HR industry and professional authorities, and demonstrates vividly that in recent years, Xiamen has registered great achievement in promoting the strategy of development by talents as well as improving regional talents' competitiveness. The amount of talents in Xiamen has hit 1.4 million so far.

New "Silk Road Maritime" shipping route added to Xiamen Port

 The "Silk Road Maritime" annual conference of 2021 kicked off in Xiamen on December 20, when the 9th batch of six routes named "Silk Road Maritime" were announced to open. Among them,  the new "Silk Road Maritime" route in Xiamen Port is to Southeast Asia, and is operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. The intended port rotation is: Xiamen - Tanjung Pelepas - Singapore - Laem Chabang - Vung Tau - Xiamen. There are so far 86 routes named "Silk Road Maritime" (57 of which are in Xiamen Port) directing to the 102 ports of 29 countries; by this November, a total of 6,856 voyages had been completed, carrying 7.4042 million TEUs. From January to November this year, Xiamen Port had handled a total throughput of over 11 million TEUs, biding for the year's goal of 12 million TEUs.

Xiamen released its special digital plan for "Fourteenth Five Year Plan"

 According to the Xiamen Special Digital Plan for the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the Plan), it is indicated that, by 2025, Xiamen will have virtually accomplished the goals of digital reform and development, constructed a complete digital governance system and digital economy development and promotion mechanism, formed an open, healthy, and secure digital ecosystem, significantly improved its social governance capability, and dramatically modernized its governance system. The Plan clarifies that the construction of the "Digital Xiamen" will be promoted in terms of digital government, digital economy, digital society, data-powered governance, new infrastructure, and cyber security, and efforts will be made for high-quality development of the digital economy.

Xiamen had good performance in industrial economy in 2021

 In 2021, the industrial added value of enterprises above the designated scale in Xiamen increased by 11.9%, ranking second in Fujian; the industry accounted for 30.7% in GDP of Xiamen, increasing by 1.1% over the past year, contributing to 35.8% of GDP growth. The added value of high-tech industries accounted for 42.6%, ranking second in Fujian; investment in technological transformation increased by 27.8%, ranking first in Fujian. In 2021, the major projects of Xiamen witnessed smooth progress, with a total investment of RMB 38.04 billion completed for 210 major industrial projects. There were 5,189 projects in progress promoted by the investment attraction group of the modern manufacturing and information industry, with a total investment of RMB 520.54 billion; the newly-added paid-in capital was RMB 50.97 billion; 102 major projects were settled in Xiamen, including the Tencent Cloud Regional Headquarters. Xiamen now has 79 technologically advanced small and medium-sized enterprises rated as "small giants" ( accounting for 35.7% of the provincial total).
