Xiamen enterprises made the list of national pilot and demonstration projects

 Recently, the MIIT released the list of pilot and demonstration projects for big data industry development of 2021, which accommodates 204 projects of 10 disciplines in 4 sectors (industrial big data application, business big data application, key data products, data management and service). Three Xiamen enterprises are enrolled on the list. These companies are Xiamen Meiya Pico Information Co., Ltd., Xiamen Fuyun Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Faxin Notarization Cloud (Xiamen) Technology Co., Ltd. Their projects were respectively rated as the Pilot and Demonstration Project of Big Data in Analysis and Mining, Pilot and Demonstration Project of Big Data in Security Protection, and Pilot and Demonstration Project of Big Data in Storage Management.

Xiamen submits an eye-catching transcript in entrepreneurship and innovation

 On October 19, the Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week 2021 (the Week for short) kicked off. For the Week, Xiamen has solicited more than 150 supporting events and more than 50 intensively displayed projects from around the country, three of which have been selected as national key theme projects to be displayed. At the launching ceremony of the Xiamen venue, four national "entrepreneurship and innovation" demonstration bases were granted plaques, including Torch High-tech Zone, Haicang Biomedicine Bay, Cross-Straits Youth Employment and Startup Base, and Xiamen University. In recent years, Xiamen has intensified its efforts into the construction of the "entrepreneurship and innovation" platform, the introduction of young entrepreneurs, and the protection of intellectual property rights. In 2020, Xiamen had 132,000 newly added commercial subjects, witnessing a growth of 8.8%. All 18 indicators related to business environment were rated as "national benchmark".

Xiamen ranks 7th among China's top 100 cities in foreign trade

 On October 20, China Customs released the 2020 China's List of Top 100 Cities in Foreign Trade, in which Xiamen ranks the 7th, marking the best in Fujian. In 2020, Xiamen registered an import and export volume of RMB 691.58 billion, up by 7.8%, which was 5.9 and 2.3 percentage points higher than the national and provincial growth rate respectively. The export volume was RMB 357.29 billion, up by 1.2%, while the import volume was RMB 334.29 billion, up by 16%. In the first three quarters this year, Xiamen saw an import and export volume of RMB 657.02 billion in foreign trade, and has maintained a monthly foreign trade volume exceeding RMB 80 billion for three consecutive months since July.

Xiamen's exhibition industry revitalized rapidly

 October 24 to 29 saw the holding of the International Battery Materials Association (IBA) 2021. In addition, more than 20 large-scale conventions and exhibitions will be conducted in Xiamen by the end of 2021, including the 17th China International Logistics Festival, which is known as "the wind vane of logistics industry", the 20th China International Transport and Logistics Expo, the 28th China International Advertising Festival, which is the most influential gala in the advertising industry, as well as China International Grain and Oil Expo, China Xiamen International Buddhist Items & Craft Fair (Autumn Edition), China Xiamen International Tea Industry Fair (Autumn Edition), 2021 Xiamen International Automotive Exhibition, etc. Xiamen International MICE Week will also be held from November 22 to 25 this year. Data shows that 80 conventions and exhibitions were held in Xiamen from January to August this year, up by 100% compared with that of 2020, generating economic benefits of 13.282 billion yuan with a YOY increase of 125.35%.

Xiamen strengthens IPR protection

 From January 2019 through September 2021, Xiamen Court accepted 11,694 and handled 9,987 IPR cases, with 90.7% of defendants accepting the judgment at the first instance and ending the case. In recent years, Xiamen Government has stuck to establishing a platform for the cross-regional collaboration of IPR, creating a high ground for Taiwan-related judicial IPR protection, and offering a high-quality judicial safeguard for creating a first-class and law-based business environment. 

Xiamen ranked among the top ten Chinese cities with sustainable competitiveness

 On November 2, China Urban Competitiveness Report 2021 was officially released. According to it, Xiamen ranked among the top 10 Chinese cities with sustainable competitiveness, up 4 places compared with that of the previous year. The report also included a number of city rankings, in many of which Xiamen entered the top ten. The urban sustainable competitiveness represents the ability of a city to enhance its performance in economy, society, ecology, innovation, and global connections. The continuous rise in rankings of Xiamen exactly reflects its strong overall strength and urban vitality featuring all-round development. Xiamen's two-year average rate of GDP growth ranked first among 15 sub-provincial cities. The ratio of foreign trade volume and the city GDP, as well as the comprehensive competitiveness of foreign trade ranked among the top nationwide. The business environment of Xiamen ranked at the forefront of China. In 2020, all 18 relevant indicators were rated as "National Benchmarks".

Four bases in Xiamen rated as National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Bases
