"One-stop integrated service" window for foreigners in Xiamen opened

 On the morning of August 19, the appointment ceremony of William N. Brown, an American professor of Xiamen University, as the consultant of "Immigration Affairs Service Center" and "Xiamen Service Center for Foreign Professionals" was held. A few days ago, the Foreign Professionals Service Center (Immigration Affairs Service Center) located in the Software Park Phase I officially opened the "one-stop integrated service" window for work and residence permits of foreigners. It enables high-end foreign professionals to apply for type A work permits and residence permits at the same window, which provides greater convenience for them to handle the procedures of work and residence permits in Xiamen. In recent years, Xiamen has been selected as "the most attractive and potential Chinese cities in the eyes of foreign professionals" for six times.

Xiamen's number of overseas talents makes the top three in vice-provincial cities

 Xiamen has made great efforts to create a good business environment over the past few years, and attracted increasing overseas talents year by year. By 2019, Xiamen has accommodated over 30,500 overseas talents, with an average of 71.1 overseas talents per 10,000 permanent residents, making it among the top 3 vice-provincial cities.

Xiamen's cross-border e-commerce B2B export business steadily rises

 Since Xiamen Customs conducted pilot supervision policy to the cross-border e-commerce B2B (Business to Business, that is the business model for the exchange and transmission of data and information and the development of trading activities between enterprises through private networks) export business on July 1st, the business in Xiamen Port continues to see expansion and increase, showing a steady upward trend. As of September 1, the customs has supervised a total of 85 cross-border e-commerce B2B export declarations with a value of 23.55 million yuan, including a total of 51 export declarations in August with a value of 19.14 million yuan, an increase of 50% and 334% respectively. The export commodities consist largely of furniture, handicrafts and clothing, and the B2B customs declaration mode has been normalized.

Xiamen has the third-highest public service quality satisfaction nationwide

 According to the national public service quality monitoring results in 2019 announced by the State Administration for Market Regulation recently, Xiamen scored 87.38 (hundred-mark system), ranking third out of the 160 cities monitored in China. It is for the first time that Xiamen enters the highest "satisfaction" range (80-100 points) in terms of overall satisfaction with public service quality. As an important index to evaluate the level of public service, the public service quality is related to the improvement of people's livelihood and the optimization of business environment. In addition to the third-highest total score nationwide, all fields within the monitoring scope of Xiamen have reached the "satisfaction" range in 2019. Among them, the satisfaction of medical service (90.30), public employment (90.15) and public education (88.52) are the highest in the country.

Xiamen Free Trade Zone issues plan to build digital free trade zone

 Focusing on the new future of digital economy, the Management Committee of Xiamen Free Trade Zone took the lead in issuing the Three-year Action Plan to Build a Digital Free Trade Pilot Zone in Xiamen Free Trade Zone a few days ago, which specifies the construction of a 5G-covered comprehensive bonded zone for the first time. The Plan also covers such hot topics as building a smart port featuring the full-scenario application of 5G technology, and realizing full 5G coverage for free trade zones.

In the aspect of building digital economy, Xiamen Free Trade Zone places special emphasis on speeding up the cultivation of digital industrial chain through investment promotion, and strengthening the interactive development of industry and self-construction. In addition, by highlighting the key areas of digital innovation and in combination with the strategic development plan of Xiamen Digital Free Trade Zone, Xiamen zone has planned and generated 60 key digital economy development projects. Freight line from Xiamen to Los Angeles opens

 A Boeing 747-400ERF operated by American Sky Lease Cargo landed at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport on the morning of October 19, marking the official opening of the scheduled freight line from Xiamen to Los Angeles. This line is to be implemented until December 31 next year, with a total of 300 round-trip flights. The opening of it makes up for the gap of non-stop freight flights from Xiamen to Los Angeles, promoting the increasing demand for cargo throughput of Xiamen Airport and helping to build a first-class hub airport in China.

Xiamen ranks first in public opinion indexes of both business environment and tourism economy

 On October 22, Sina and Institute of WRD Big Data released the Analysis Report on the Image Communication Effect of Vice-Provincial Cities in China, in which Xiamen ranks first in the public opinion indexes of both business environment and tourism economy. The report makes an in-depth analysis of the communication influence of 15 vice-provincial cities in five aspects including business environment, investment promotion, tourism economy, import and export trade, and talent introduction, to investigate the role and impact of city image communication on the practical work.

According to the report, Xiamen ranks first twice with the public opinion index of 97.4% for business environment and 97.5% for tourism economy. Among the 15 vice-provincial cities, Xiamen topped the first in terms of the investment promotion network information volume in the third quarter, with a month-on-month increase of 76.9%, and it has the third-highest public opinion index of investment promotion.
